Today after a long rainy day, Chuck was eager to show me how high the water had gotten at a nearby stream. He took me to a spot that he found earlier, where thousands of little ants were marching uphill. "Watch all the little white spots they're carrying," he told me. We followed them for a while, an endless mile of determined little creatures on a mission. The challenges and frustrations of my own day were stomped away by the perseverance of those little ants, saving their eggs from the rising water.
